School Meals

The healthy eating ethos continues throughout the school day.

Please feel free to let us know your views on our menus by email via admin@oldmoat.manchester.sch.uk

We work with our parents to encourage all our children to have positive relationships with food.  We are committed to encouraging all our children to have a varied, well-balanced diet, which we believe is vital for your child’s health and wellbeing.

We regularly update our lunchtime menues and have a wide variety of meals on offer.  Reception, Y1 & 2 receive free universal school meals. Please remember that Nursery and Y3,4,5,& 6 families do have to pay for school meals, unless your family is entitled to free school meals. The cost of school meals is £12.50 to be paid in advance every Monday. We need one week's notice if your child wants to change from packed lunch to school meal or vice versa.

To the right hand side of this page you can download the latest school lunch menus.

We also encourage all our children on packed lunches to eat healthily; working with you, the parents, we discourage the inclusion of sweets and chocolates in lunch boxes.  If you need any help with what to put in your child’s packed lunch we are more than happy to help.

Free bagels are availabe to all children in the mornings so that all children can be fuelled for learning!

The healthy eating ethos continues throughout the school day as we offer the following to your child:

  • Water is available throughout the day for children to keep well hydrated
  • All children from Nursery to Year 2 are provided with a free piece of fruit each day
  • At morning break, our older children have the opportunity to purchase a variety of different fruits from our fruit stall – the average cost of a piece of fruit is 20p.

Please note that because our ingredients are fresh there will be occasions when we have to make alterations to our planned menus due to supply issues.
